Trashcan Mural Project: Indivisible Kalama & Friends for Justice

Artist Profile:

“Indivisible Kalama & Friends for Justice” came about in May 2025. Some of our beliefs and goals are supporting our neighbors and strengthening our community, including creating a feeling of belonging and safety. This includes surrounding communities as well; thus, the “and friends” in our group name. As such, several members participate in city committees. We conduct a quarterly donation drive to benefit Kalama Helping Hand. We’ve held donation drives for the Ethnic Support Council in Longview. And we have fun! One such fun activity was participating in the Trashcan Mural Project. As in any truly collaborative democratic endeavor, things got loud, confusing, and messy. LOL. We wanted the lid to represent both the interconnectedness of all peoples and Kalama’s unique historical and cultural elements. We are looking forward to joining in on more community-building events!
