Cullen Parking Spots

As preparation for filming began in this parking lot, Kalama HS seniors had to vacate for the duration of filming, about 4-5 weeks, including spring break. One day, Hollywood showed up. A procession of cars, some props including a green Pinto car, began rolling into the parking lot. Most vehicles were driven by ordinary people, but others, like a beautiful red convertible, were driven by people who clearly were “Hollywood Stars”. Top down, sunglasses on. The red convertible was driven to the location by Rosalie. Throughout filming, all the major stars drove the cars in the movie, to and from their hotel. Emmitt’s Jeep Rubicon showed up often, with what looked like a fresh coat of mud splattered on the sides. In one scene filmed in this location, Edward is standing here looking at Bella, who is at her truck just before the crash. During filming, a scene was repeatedly shot 10-15 times with Edward running across to save her. The shot never made it into the movie, though hours were wasted trying to get it to work.
